Zombie Fans Will Love This!

Watching from a safe distance, the small group of survivors fighting for their lives witnesses change. The woolies are acting out of character and the leeches are more aggressive. Leaving the confines of the school, the small troupe ventures out to find the military base. During the escape from the school, one is bitten by a leech. Troy tries to keep his bite a secret to protect Amy. However, another betrayal and time make it difficult for Troy to keep his secret.

James Brown, the author puts a different spin on this dystopian novel in which the monsters – leeches and woolies – are not only evolving but some are becoming smarter and more deadly. Part of a series, the story flowed smoothly and effortlessly from book one to two keeping the characters consistent. The storyline was fast-paced with action and peppered with emotion. This book prompted the listener to examine their thoughts and explore their relationships and emotions. It is more than a dystopian novel, so much more! The plot twists are well executed and fit the storyline well.

The narrator, Kerr Lordygan gives a solid performance with specific and consistent voices for each character. Lordygan keeps the story moving forward smoothly and steadily interjecting an appropriate amount of emotion. The short exchange between Amy and Troy was very moving and made more so by Lordygan.

This continues to be an interesting and captivating story where plot twists are expected but not with such a twist!
